Hang on St. Christopher

Here’s an old Wait’s caricature I never got round to finishing. I played around with it a little bit while waiting for feedback on the paying job I am on now… and this is as far as I got with it. Guess it’ll never be really done.

John Lee Hooker.

Listen to his song Tupelo, simply amazing.

Strange Fruit...

The Great Nina Simone... she had loads of attitude, but without the lame posing today's artists seem to think is so super-cool.
Edit:
I showed my Number One Critic –my wife- the Nina S caricature she thought I made her unattractive, so I had another go. Here’s a slightly younger Nina than the first…and hopefully this one is less un-flattering too…

Downtown

A quick one of Old Neil again.

Been listening to the Mirrorball album lately. The riff from 'Downtown' is -I think- pretty much a straight redo of the one he played on Warren Zevon's song ‘Sentimental Hygiene’. But it’s a killer anyway, so why not recycle?
Edit: Cleaned this up a little...

Holiday!

This was supposed to be a Elle McPherson caricature, but I lost interest in the likeness, still like it as a drawing though. So I thought I’d pop it on here as the last post for the next week or so. I’ll be off up the coast soaking up sun and beer.

Tough Guy!

I've been meaning to do a Bronson for a while now, mainly because he is in what I think is the best Western ever made: 'Once Upon a Time in the West’. What a movie. The opening sequence alone is worth seeing it for. Faultless direction.

Lucile and her Man

Over on Drawingboard.org there's been a few BB King images posted lately, made me want to try him again.

Close Encounter

Everybody's Favorite Director, never put a foot wrong. With the exception of 'The Crystal Skull' and 'The Terminal' and 'A.I' and 'Hook' and 'The Colour Purple' and 'The Lost World' and... nevermind. But he did a few great ones!
