In case anyone was getting worried... I am still in the land of the living. Sort of... I have been chasing deadlines like a dervish for 4 solid weeks, with not a moment to spare. Good for the bank balance, not so good for posting.

Anyway, anyway here's a pretty quick drawing of everyones favorite bit of Sydney. The Harbour Bridge.

EDIT: The proportions started bugging me, so here's a little tweak -the image at the top. A bit better I think.

The Black Eyed Peas. Did this one ages ago, when I was still at Disney. It was one of those 'oops I spilled my drink' type drawings that pop out very quickly. I'm still pretty happy with it... that VERY rarely happens.

Deeply Scarlett...

Started this one for the Scarlett Johansson Jam over on Drawingboard.org. I worked on it while juggling a few other deadlines and lost interest altogether. So tonight I thought I’d make one last attempt to finish it. Got so close!

Edit: Had another look at this one and decided I actually liked the first version better, so I reworked it a bit and cleaned it up a tad. Any second now I'll swing back the other way.

Time warp...

Here’s a little preview of the new Babalela kids-book I’ve been working on. It’s a bit of a time travel trick to draw like this again, it’s not really what my work looks like now. But I have to emulate the drawing style I had when I did the first book almost ten years ago.

A client recently wanted to see some Da Vinci style work, so I did these mock-ups -super quick-as samples, pulled together from older drawings. The job never came through… hate that.

I am not 100% happy with the likeness on this one, but there it is...

Diddley was once asked if he appreciated the fact that so many artists were influenced by him and very often incorporate his ‘Diddley Beat’ into their work. To this he answered flatly -I'm paraphrasing somewhat-‘No, it doesn’t pay the rent. If they paid me I’d feel better about it’. Brilliant answer I thought.
